Do You Want To Meet A Rock Star?

Plumbers come in all shapes and sizes – and plumbing itself can be an excellent career which many people get into straight after school. Because of this, it’s not surprising that many people have dabbled in the profession at some point or other. What is surprising is what other jobs some of these people moved on to – becoming famous, well-known names and faces.

Number one on the list is John Lawrence Sullivan. He was a plumbing apprentice before people realized he had a penchant for boxing, and he went on to become the first heavyweight champion in the world.

Michael Caine, a famous actor, worked as a plumber’s apprentice after he left the army.

Bob Hoskins, another famous actor who is known for his role in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. But before he was an actor – you guessed it – he was an apprentice plumber.

Ozzie Osbourne left school to become a plumber’s assistant. Unfortunately, Ozzie ended up in prison for burglary and once he was out, turned to music rather than return to plumbing. That’s why those background checks are important!

Country and Western singer John Anderson was a plumber’s apprentice before making it in the recording industry.

And then we have the two most famous plumbers – Mario and Luigi.

So, the next time you have somebody fixing your leaky faucet or stopping your water heater from exploding, remember that you could be looking at a future movie star, rock star, singer, or even, just possibly, at the next up and coming video game character!
